ASSIGNMENT

Your agency is being asked to plan and execute a digital marketing campaign for a cause or organization in the real world. You are to identify a subject, research and review the needs and environment, choose a SMART goal, develop a plan, and execute on that plan. Agencies will be expected to present their results to the class, and provide a written review to the instructor on May 18, 2026.

SUBJECT MATTER

As a firm, determine a cause/event/organization that will be the focus of your services. You will try to “make a dent in the universe” through your work – examples of this could be: help a community group promote an upcoming concert, establish a social media presence for a non-profit, or make noise about litter on 23rd Street. Remember that working with third-party organizations can oftentimes slow down the process, so be cognizant of that and other potential roadblocks at the beginning. Use the tools we’ve reviewed in class, social media, websites, mobile, earned media, and more, to help achieve your objectives. You will be judged primarily on your ability to identify a problem and develop a creative and effective solution. It is understood that with limited time, budget, and experience, you will have difficulty achieving breakthrough results, which is why it is important to choose a realistic scope for your subject matter.

RESULTS PRESENTATION

Please prepare a written review of your work of no more than four pages that summarizes your strategies and efforts on this project. Make sure to include the following items in your paper: • Identification of the subject and why it was chosen. • Description of team-member roles and responsibilities. • Outline of the nature of the problem – what was needed for a solution? • Description of your solution – what did you do? • Results – what happened? • Reflections – what would you do better/differently? Results presentations should involve at least two members of your team, and should explain your subject, challenge, solution, and results in a 8-minute presentation.
